Our story

Twenty-six years of showing up

What began 26 years ago as Hope Zone has grown into a vibrant community committed to bringing hope, dignity and practical support to the most vulnerable in our communities.

Liberty Compassion works across four pillars: education — pre-school and primary school; assisting the under resourced and vulnerable; assisting widows and orphans; and freedom from exploitation, including anti human trafficking and gender based violence.

We have continued strengthening our vision, values and strategies while expanding and refining our projects and programmes.

2025 in review

Cheryl Reeves — Chairperson

“As we reflect on 2025, we are filled with gratitude and hope for all that has been accomplished through Liberty Compassion this past year.”

This year has been marked by growth, resilience and deepened impact. We have continued strengthening our vision, values and strategies while expanding and refining our projects and programmes. Our staff team, volunteers, donors and partners have worked tirelessly to ensure that hope is not just spoken about, but demonstrated in practical ways every day.

2025 was filled with many memorable highlights. Our Care Days continued to make an impact, both through the volunteers who serve and the families who receive support. We also loved hosting a missions team from Valley Church, UK, whose incredible work and generosity brought valuable upgrades to Thusanang Pre School.

We have also been encouraged by the increasing number of volunteers serving across our programmes. Every hour given, every skill shared, and every act of generosity has made a tangible difference. To every volunteer — thank you for bringing your time, talent and compassion to Liberty Compassion. You are the heartbeat of what we do.

As we look ahead to 2026, we do so with faith and expectation. There are still many people who need hope, support and community, and we remain committed to serving with excellence, compassion and integrity.
